Academics

We encourage all students to achieve at the highest level of their ability, develop a Growth Mindset, and become Self Regulated Learners as they celebrate their achievements. The Quest Student Center provides learning opportunities in small group instruction, one-on-one and whole group.

Mathematics – TK-5th grades use Ready Math, and TPS real world hands on projects including learning manipulatives. In addition, all K-5th grade students use a concept-based, award-winning online “Gigi” math program officially called “ST Math” to develop spatially reasoning and conceptual understanding of mathematics.

ELA – The Daily 5 is a series of literacy tasks (read to self, read to someone, listen to reading, writing and word work) that students complete each day while the teacher engages in small group instruction. This framework helps students develop the daily habits of reading, writing and working with peers. The goal is to foster these good habits and develop lifelong skills of independent literacy. We also use a structured writing development program, Step Up to Writing, Lexia, and Reading A-Z. Grades 2-5 also have “Right Fit” choice novels each quarter.

Science – TK-5th grade uses a thematic, integrated approach with support from a-z science.

History – Integrated units.

Art – K-5 have regular Art instruction using Meet the Masters and integrated studies that compliment math standards.

ACE – Every classroom grades TK-5 have an Assistant Classroom Educator who, under the direction of the classroom teacher, guides small groups or one on one to meet the varying needs of our students.
