In this cooperative model, homeschooled students and parents are able to work with credentialed Education Specialists using our preferred Homeschool curriculum. Small-group class workshops and support are provided three days per week and parent participation is encouraged and relied upon.
Essential elements include:
- High-interest, integrated, literature-based curriculum
- The instructional week consists of three days together with peers and education specialists (T, W, TH) and two days at home (M, F) with the parent as the teacher.
- We encourage parent participation and offer a variety of opportunities for contribution and participation

September 24, 2024Springs’ Cherry Valley Student Center had a week of student council campaigning, speeches, and voting as students ran for president, vice president, treasurer, secretary, and class representative, reported Principal Tammy Slaten. The week included candidate speeches followed by electronic voting by students.

November 14, 2023Springs Cherry Valley Student Center has completed its Character Build Assemblies in which students make presentations promoting the school’s Reach Core Values: respect, empathy, acceptance, commitment and honesty. Following the assemblies, students take the “Principal’s Challenge,” in which they complete a writing task associated with the spotlighted value. Students then take the challenge home to complete and then return to school for submission for “Lunch with Admin,” during which time students and administrators share stories at lunch.

September 12, 2023Springs’ Cherry Valley Student Center began its school year with RAD (Reduce Anxiety and Depression) Week, reported Principal Tammy Slaten, “by encouraging our students to develop on a social-emotional level prior to the start of the curriculum. We realize students need to feel a sense of belonging before they can focus academically and we take pride in our RAD Week and the amazing community it brings.”
