Name: Nevaeh Atchison Age: 12 Grade: 8 I chose: iShine Student Center Why? To take advantage of the
freedom to work ahead and create my
own learning path. Nevaeh says: “The teachers teach us
important things like integrity and
intrinsic motivation. The freedom to
use my own learning style is great for
me because I get to be creative and
am encouraged to try new things and
look for new perspectives.”
Nevaeh hopes to be a children’s book
author when she grows up.
Zoey Ruderman, 14, of Temecula is an 8th-grade student in Springs’ iShine program who is also a successful actress. She has been acting for eight years, and has an agent. She was most recently featured in a Hallmark anti-bullying commercial and a Facebook Super Bowl commercial. She has also done a Toys R Us commercial and films for film festivals. She added, “My dream is to do a horror film.”
Springs’ iShine Student Center in Temecula celebrated the life of Sue Miller Hurst, the Center’s former principal who succumbed to cancer last Thanksgiving, with the reveal of a legacy wall created in her honor.
My favorite subject in school is Math because at Springs Charter Schools all the teachers make it really fun.
