California Assessment of Student Performance and Progress
CAASPP General Information
ALL 3rd – 8th, and 11th grade students enrolled in Citrus, Empire, Harbor, Inland Empire, Pacific, River, and Vista Springs will be participating in the assessments below:
SBAC Computer Adaptive Summative (CAT) and Performance Task (PT), CAST Science (5th, 8th, and 11th/12th Grade), or Charter School Grade Level Assessments, or California Alternate Assessment* (CAA)
*CAA is for students with severe disabilities on a functional curriculum.
As described in the Measurable Pupil Outcomes section of the school’s charter, “all pupils of the school must demonstrate that they have attained the skills, knowledge, and attitudes as specified as goals in the charter school’s educational program.” Additionally, parents understand that “student progress will be assessed through the current state-mandated assessment tool.”
- Assessment testing: all students will annually demonstrate their attainment of skills in one of the following ways:
- The student will take the California state-sponsored standardized grade-level assessment, administered in the local geographic area each spring by the charter school.*
- The student will take the Charter School grade level assessment.
- Language Development: All students whose Home Language Survey or previous school’s data indicates a language other than English will take the English Language Proficiency Assessments for California by the annual deadline until it is determined that they are English proficient*.
*Test modifications/accommodations will be provided according to the IEP or 504 Plan, if applicable.
