Corona Hosts Sandy Hook Kickoff Welcome

Springs’ Corona Student Center held a Sandy Hook Kickoff welcome, which included the students taking a student body photo on the playground with students arranged to spell out the word “hello.” The Center is participating in the Sandy Hook Promise program, which includes meeting to discuss isolation and loneliness, and understanding their harmful effects on young people. Springs’ Corona Student Center is starting the new school year with a fresh coat of exterior paint, the Springs colors of cream with dark blue trim, reported the new principal, E.J. Whitehead. Other exterior maintenance includes new grass and wood chips for the playground area. Continue reading

Corona Student Center Booth, Outdoor Field Trip

Springs’ Corona Student Center hosted a booth (pictured) at the Corona-Norco Day of the Child. This free event is for children to come together to play games, have their faces painted, jump in bounce houses, ride ponies, play at the petting zoo and win prizes. Continue reading

Corona Students Visit the LA Zoo

Students from Springs’ Corona Student Center visited the LA Zoo and Botanical Garden to augment their Studies Weekly Life Science unit. They observed animals in their natural habitat, learned about global conservation and even fed a giraffe. Continue reading

Annual Kite Festival at Corona Student Center

June 25, 2018

Middle school students at Springs’ Corona Student Center enjoyed an annual kite festival, which included a math lesson on a special quadrilateral called a “kite.” Students made their own kites and spent the afternoon at a local park flying their creations. Continue reading
