The Corona Coyote football team played the Bear River Bears in a scrimmage at La Ladera Park, Menifee. Since the Corona team only had six players, the coaches brought all of the players together and split them up into two teams that were equally matched. Coach Tom Fagot acted as referee and mentor.
For the fourth quarter, Coyote Coach Jacob Thomas pulled his six players together and brought over one Bear River player to make seven as Corona and Bear River held a controlled scrimmage. This gave the Corona players the opportunity to play as a team against an opponent.
It was a wonderful experience for all of the children, said Corona Student Center Principal E.J. Whitehead, who extended his thanks to Tom Fagot, Dontae Jelks, Michele Navarro, Shane Wickwire and participating parents who supported the event.
