Springs’ Corona Student Center held a Sandy Hook Kickoff welcome, which included the students taking a student body photo on the playground with students arranged to spell out the word “hello.” The Center is participating in the Sandy Hook Promise program, which includes meeting to discuss isolation and loneliness, and understanding their harmful effects on young people. Principal EJ Whitehead noted, “We also identified ways of removing isolation and loneliness by starting with the word ‘hello’. We have determined that this simple word can positively change the outlook of another person’s day. One word, said at a random moment, can have such an amazing effect.”
