Students from Springs’ Corona Student Center visited the LA Zoo and Botanical Garden to augment their Studies Weekly Life Science unit. They observed animals in their natural habitat, learned about global conservation and even fed a giraffe.
Additionally, Mrs. Janeway’s 4th and 5th-grade students learned about the solar system by making planets out of papier-mâché, working together to ensure that the planets were the right size and colors. In Mrs. Van Schaik’s 6th grade class, students made vases and pottery using terra cotta clay used by ancient Greeks.
