Two students in Springs’ Bear River Student Center addressed the school’s board of directors as part of the principal’s presentation on their success at the Center. Fifth-grader Rachel Gomez, Principal Shane Wickwire reported, “spoke about how much she loves Bear River, describing how she likes the fact that personalization takes place in the classrooms, allowing her and her fellow students to work at their own pace.” Continue reading →

Seth Blynn, 16, a sophomore with Springs’ Magnolia Student Center’s Renaissance Real World Academy, has been named an Eagle Scout. To earn the award, the Jurupa Valley resident led a team of youth and adults in refurbishing the flagpole at historic Marcy Library, now home to the Foster Army Animal Rescue Thrift Store. Renaissance Real World Academy student Brian C. of Jurupa Valley has been honored for his exemplary volunteer service with a President’s Volunteer Service Award. The award recognizes Americans of all ages who have volunteered significant amounts of their time to serve their communities and their country and was granted by The Prudential Spirit of Community Awards program.
