Springs’ Otay Ranch Academy for the Arts (ORAA) participated in the Great Kindness Challenge in January, a week-long bullying prevention program in which students are encouraged to “create a culture of compassion, inclusion, unity and respect.”
ORAA activities included kindness recess stations, spirit days, class photos, letter writing to military members and first responders and “caught being kind” slips. Begun in Carlsbad in 2012, today 17 million students in all 50 states participate in the Great Kindness Challenge.
