Parent IGNITE! Back-to-School Conference

I hope you’ve been enjoying your summer.

As we prepare for the 2025-26 school year, I’d like to invite our Springs families to participate in our annual Parent IGNITE! Back-to-School Conference which will be held Tuesday, August 12. Its purpose is to equip and inspire our families so that they may enjoy a successful school year.

Participants may join us virtually or at one of our regional events in Riverside, Temecula, or Santa Ana. Our keynote speaker is Jonathan Fanning who will lead a session entitled “Who Are You BECOMING?” Based on his popular book, Jonathan will explore the four pillars of great leadership and offer a simple formula for personal and organizational growth. He draws on lessons from historical figures like Viktor Frankl and shares practical leadership advice, applicable to leaders of organizations, teams, and families.

Journey Teacher to Make Presentation to Historian Group
I am continually impressed by and grateful for the many outstanding teachers we employ at Springs! One I’d like to highlight this month is Journey teacher Scott White, who will discuss “Hiroshima and the Birth of the Perilous Present: How the Atomic Bombing Set the Stakes for Modern Global Threats” at the Pacific Coast Branch of the American Historical Association (PCB-AHA) on July 31. Scott has been working on his Master’s degree in history and will discuss the purpose and outcome of his research.

Graduation 2025
Last Thursday, it was my great pleasure to participate in the graduation ceremony for Springs’ Class of 2025. We saw 310 of our seniors graduate from our various programs in which, as I mentioned in my remarks, they were required to make real choices, work independently a significant portion of the time, and take direct responsibility for their own learning. Our graduates learned through experience how to set goals, worked towards goals independently, participated in internships and career technical education, performed community service, and engaged in other personalized activities that helped them attain the future they envisioned.
Among our graduates, 219 completed CTE Pathways, and 88 of those students also received a CTE Academic Honor Cord. One of these students went on to earn two cords, which all students were able to wear as they graduated. Many of our graduates have already received college credits either through articulated courses or concurrent enrollment, and the majority of our graduates have completed at least two college courses. And, as I further noted in my remarks, 32 of our graduates have chosen a Springs program for every year of their education, from kindergarten or first grade to their senior year.

Homeschool Winter Professional Development
A Happy New Year to you all. I hope you’re enjoying a nice winter break.
In December, more than 125 TK-8 Homeschool staff members participated in our annual Winter Professional Development. This gathering was the largest in the program’s history, shared Homeschool Director Lori Loucks, and reflects the continued growth and success of our Homeschool program. The day provided an opportunity for staff to reflect on their accomplishments, engage in collaborative learning, and strategize how to best support families for the remainder of the school year. The event fostered a sense of unity and shared purpose as the team worked to enhance their efforts in providing personalized learning experiences for our Springs families.
We’re very grateful to our staff for their amazing work on behalf of our students and their families, and we thank you for all you do. Please enjoy the remainder of your winter break, and we look forward to seeing you back in the classroom again soon!
