Homeschool Student Exhibits at County Science Fair

Springs 8th grade Homeschool student Gwyneth Mcintyre, 13, will exhibit her award-winning research project at the Riverside County Office of Education’s Virtual Science and Engineering Fair Expo 2020 event on September 26, 2020.  Her project explored what type of toothpaste would protect her teeth best.

Alumni Profile: Venture Online Grad Alessio Sasso

Alessio Sasso, 18, is a 2020 graduate of Springs’ Venture Online Program.  He began riding motorbikes at age 3, racing at 6 and competing at 12.  Although he is sidelined currently recovering from an injury, he plans on becoming a professional motocross and supercross athlete.

Magnolia ACE Bella Cantu Receives Fellowship

Springs’ Magnolia Student Center ACE and 2017 Homeschool graduate Bella Cantu received a two-year Mellon Mays Undergraduate Fellowship from Cal State University San Bernardino; her proposed research topic is: Educational challenges resulting from the COVID-19 crisis among minority students and faculty.

Bear River Staffing News, Longevity Trophy

In Springs’ Bear River Student Center staffing news, the school has a new program facilitator, Dontae Jelks.  Additionally, two ACEs, Erin Heredia and Tom Fagot, recently earned bachelor’s degrees, Ms. Heredia’s in psychology and Mr. Fagot’s in Applied Studies.

RVA Summer Focus, Chamber Membership

Springs’ Renaissance Valley Academy (RVA) in San Jacinto held a Summer Focus to help middle and high school students improve in ELA and math.  This is the 5th such summer program, and the first to include middle school students and to be held online.  Students met virtually with teachers twice a week for an hour of optional learning.

Construction on FAPA Facility Nears Completion

August 3, 2020

Construction of a permanent facility for Springs’ Flabob Airport Preparatory Academy (FAPA) is making progress, reported principal Robin Davis, with an office and 10 classrooms having been completed and work on a hangar and installation of plumbing underway.  Inspections will follow once the work is complete, and the building is expected to be ready for occupancy by January.

iShine Holds Promotion/Recognition Drive-Through

Springs iShine Student Center in Temecula held a promotion parade for its 8th grad students and a recognition parade for TK-7th grade. Rancho Cucamonga Learning Center 8th Grader has Perfect Score on CAASPP Testing Two Years in a Row

Reginald Carr, 14, of Fontana, who has just completed the 8th grade with Springs’ Rancho Cucamonga Learning Center’s Discovery Program, for two years in a row earned perfect CAASPP scores in language arts and mathematics.  He said, “I am proud of this accomplishment. I feel that staying consistent with my studies throughout the school year helped me achieve this success.” Continue reading
