Cherry Valley Movie Night Fundraiser

Springs Cherry Valley Student Center is presenting an End of Summer Back-to-School Movie Night fundraiser on Saturday, August 6, beginning at 7 p.m. Cherry Valley families as well as friends of the school are invited to come and watch the 2017 movie The Greatest Showman with Hugh Jackman. The musical drama tells the story of the life of P.T. Barnum, the 19th-century showman, and entertainer.

Magnolia Holds Summer Encore

Springs’ Magnolia Student Center held a Summer Encore, a week-long summer school program in June. It was themed to the 1980s, with music, learning, and fun, reported Beverly Voechting, principal, culminating in class and student performances.

Murrieta Flamingo Fling, Career Day

Springs’ Murrieta Student Center had a “Flamingo Fling” to celebrate the end of the school year which included water slides, bounce houses, spin art, a glitter body artist, art gala, and games, including a water balloon toss.

Creative Learning at ORAA

June 6, 2022

Springs’ Otay Ranch Academy for the Arts (ORAA) teacher Taylor Olson had a Jedi Training Camp. Students practiced skills to be Jedi: balance, concentration, teamwork, problem-solving, agility, accuracy, and peace. The favorite activity, Ms. Olson reported, were lightsaber battles.

Homeschool Student’s Orchestra Takes First in Division

Journey Homeschool High School 9th-grade student Elliott Dahl has been playing violin with the Temecula Conservatory of Music (formerly Temecula Strings) since he was age 6. The Temecula Conservatory’s Chamber Orchestra took top honors recently at the Music in the Parks Competition at Magic Mountain.

Homeschool Students Enjoy Fire Safety Lesson

May 26, 2022

Springs’ Hemet Student Center finished out the school year by offering a parking lot field trip to the Homeschool community, reported Principal April Jacoby. The local fire department brought an engine to the site, showed off its equipment, and taught fire safety lessons. Teacher Uta Jorgensen organized the event; participating families included the Johnson, Cervantes, Reynolds and Corona, families.
