March Student Artist of the Month

Galilee Holmes, 11, a 5th grade student from Springs’ Hemet Quest Student Center, is the March 2023 Student Artist of the Month. She lives in Hemet. Her artwork is entitled The Greatest School on Earth: Where Everyone Belongs.

Galilee likes to draw with pencils, colored pencils, and paint. Favorite subjects include fairies and mermaids. She explained, “I always draw everything with a pencil first, in case I need to erase anything. Then and add color or paint afterwards.”

She likes to use chalk to draw houses, buildings, and stores on the outdoors patio. She continued, “It’s fun to make them big enough for me to pretend to fit in!” She added, “Also, I love to color with markers on big cardboard boxes. I made a flying carpet once!”

Galilee is an actress. She said, “Creating characters and getting to pretend is so fun! I’ve gotten to go back to the Depression era, World War II, the retro 1980’s and the 1990’s! Everyone on set is so nice!”  Actors with whom she has worked include John Stamos, Jenna Fischer, Bella Thorne and James Franco. After she finishes school, she said, she wants to act, cook and “be a Momma.”  She added, “I also dream about the stars and wish to be there!”
