Rancho Cucamonga Students Enjoy Hockey Game

Monica Lopez, principal of the Rancho Cucamonga Personalized Learning Center, reported that the school participated in a Family Fun Night at an Ontario Reign hockey game, enjoying “action-packed” hockey and sharing their “school spirit.”  The evening began with her students holding the Reign’s flag center ice to kick off the game.

November Student Artist of the Month: Mia Harris

October 16, 2024

Mia Harris, 5, a Kindergarten student at Springs’ Rancho Cucamonga Student Center who lives in Ontario, is the November 2024 Student Artist of the Month. She likes to draw fictional characters such as unicorns and cartoons as well as her parents. She also likes playing piano and singing, dancing, T-ball, Minecraft, and Roblox. She hopes one day to be a professional ballerina or police officer.

Apex Leadership Training Comes to Rancho

Students at Springs’ Rancho Cucamonga Personalized Learning Center “soared into the new school year with excitement and purpose,” reported Principal Monica Lopez, as students raised funds for the school’s S.T.E.A.M. initiative and “embarked on a journey to develop leadership skills that will guide them as future leaders.”

Students Learn Chemistry at Rancho Cucamonga

The Rancho Cucamonga Learning Center students in the Adventures in Chemistry class borrowed high school molecular modeling kits and built molecule and compound models, reported Lori Loucks, Homeschool director. They had an introduction as to how atoms make up elements, how elements make compounds and how elements bond with other elements.

Homeschool Student’s Key Chain Fundraiser

November 21, 2022

Springs Homeschool 5th grade student Cameron Skibar, a participant in enrichment teacher Andrew Seyfred’s Bizworld Rancho Cucamonga Personalized Learning Center class, is helping raise money to pay for paint for a mural in the Rancho student garden by selling key chains with the Springs name and Rancho hummingbird logo.

Enrichment Class Creates Fall Pumpkins

Students in teacher Ann Woodruff’s Cursive, Keys, and Calligraphy enrichment class at the Rancho Cucamonga Learning Center created fall pumpkins. Marla Martindale, director of learning centers, said, “We love that we continue to come up with new and unique classes for the kids each year.”

Rancho Cucamonga Popsicle Reward Party

The staff at Springs’ Rancho Cucamonga Personalized Learning Center has revamped its Positive Behavior Intervention System and is “modeling, rewarding, and celebrating as our students show examples of our Hummingbird Expectations of ‘Be Safe, Be Respectful, and Be Responsible,’” reported Steve Bentley, vice principal.
