The Rancho Cucamonga Learning Center students in the Adventures in Chemistry class borrowed high school molecular modeling kits and built molecule and compound models, reported Lori Loucks, Homeschool director. They had an introduction as to how atoms make up elements, how elements make compounds and how elements bond with other elements.
Springs’ Rancho Cucamonga Personalized Learning Center held a Family Fun Festival, reported Principal Monica Lopez. Participants enjoyed inflatables, games and prizes, face painting, food, and music.
Springs Homeschool 5th grade student Cameron Skibar, a participant in enrichment teacher Andrew Seyfred’s Bizworld Rancho Cucamonga Personalized Learning Center class, is helping raise money to pay for paint for a mural in the Rancho student garden by selling key chains with the Springs name and Rancho hummingbird logo.
Students in teacher Ann Woodruff’s Cursive, Keys, and Calligraphy enrichment class at the Rancho Cucamonga Learning Center created fall pumpkins. Marla Martindale, director of learning centers, said, “We love that we continue to come up with new and unique classes for the kids each year.”
The staff at Springs’ Rancho Cucamonga Personalized Learning Center has revamped its Positive Behavior Intervention System and is “modeling, rewarding, and celebrating as our students show examples of our Hummingbird Expectations of ‘Be Safe, Be Respectful, and Be Responsible,’” reported Steve Bentley, vice principal.
Springs’ Rancho Cucamonga Personalized Learning Center is pleased to welcome a new vice principal, Steven Bentley. He has a background in teaching and administration working at both traditional and charter schools.
Springs’ Rancho Cucamonga Learning Center teachers Leana Viramontes and Ann Woodruff facilitated the Center’s leadership class to celebrate author Dr. Seuss through read-alouds, games and crafts for the school’s kinder buddies in honor of Read Across America Week.
The staff and students of Springs’ Rancho Cucamonga Student Center will be participating in Global Read Aloud, reported Principal Colette Bozek.
After nearly a year of virtual learning, Springs’ Rancho Cucamonga Student Center welcomed students’ grades K-6 back to the campus at 25% capacity for hybrid learning on March 8. The school had been closed to students due to the pandemic lockdown.
Reginald Carr, 14, of Fontana, who has just completed the 8th grade with Springs’ Rancho Cucamonga Learning Center’s Discovery Program, for two years in a row earned perfect CAASPP scores in language arts and mathematics. He said, “I am proud of this accomplishment. I feel that staying consistent with my studies throughout the school year helped me achieve this success.” Continue reading
