Springs homeschool students Vincent and Nalani Barnett, grades 6 & 4, are active participants in Springs’ Centurion Recreational Club. The Club is a school-wide organization that promotes good health and asks participants to commit to regularly engaging in their favorite pastimes. Vincent and Nalani participate in an hour-long karate class at least twice a week. They swim a minimum of 30 minutes each week. They jog or walk a mile once or twice a week. They bike ride two miles a minimum of once a week. Their goal is to exceed the Club’s goal of 100 miles of activity by the end of the school year. Their mother, Shammarie, remarked, “It’s a challenge they have fun with to stay healthy.”
