Homeschool Student Has Passion for Creating Cardboard Comics

Lucas Cruz is a creative 7th-grade Homeschool student who is skilled at drawing and creating cardboard comics, reported his ES, Ashley Hughes; when Lucas has a history lesson or a read-aloud, he recreates it in comic form.  He developed his talent by watching instructional YouTube videos and has since added to what he learned by creating his own patterns and designs with a focus on superheroes.

Homeschool Student Exhibits at County Science Fair

Springs 8th grade Homeschool student Gwyneth Mcintyre, 13, will exhibit her award-winning research project at the Riverside County Office of Education’s Virtual Science and Engineering Fair Expo 2020 event on September 26, 2020.  Her project explored what type of toothpaste would protect her teeth best.

Homeschool Junior Recognized in Robotics Competition

May 11, 2020

Springs Homeschool junior Ashley Farrell, 17, of Chino, was included on the Dean’s List for the 2020 FIRST Championships for FRC – First Robotics Competition.  This is the most prestigious award a student can achieve through the FIRST program; she was one of 3,000 students nominated where only 10 are selected.  Ashley is a founding member of Rogue Techs, a US FIRST, First Robotics Competition Robotics team. Homeschool 7th Grader Takes 1st in Science Competition

March 10, 2020

Homeschool 7th-grade student Gwyneth McIntyre, 12, earned a 1st place award and was designated as a Broadcom Masters Nominee at the Riverside County Science and Engineering Fair held in March. Her project, Terrible or Terrific Toothpaste? examined which toothpastes caused the least tooth decay. Gwyneth was one of 450 students participating; she participated in the Health and Biomedical Sciences category. Continue reading
