Annie Diaz was named Student of the Month for the Keys College & Career Prep program. She is in the 12th grade, and is in her 4th year with the program.
Annie is grateful for the recognition, and remarked, “I owe so much due to the freedoms and opportunities I have been able to receive through the KEYS program, which has allowed me to excel.”
She is a straight-A student, and takes math and English at Mt. San Jacinto College. She has a special interest in music, and plans to earn a bachelor’s degree in music and become a music producer. She helps her fellow students as a teacher’s aide. Summer Knapp, KEYS Education Specialist, noted, “She is self-motivated, and has really shined in this role.”
Annie is from Hemet, and rides the bus to meet her teacher at the Temecula site. Summer continued, “At their meetings, she and her teacher discuss books and films. She takes suggestions and devours them. But she isn’t a ‘yes man.’ She will disagree when she believes something different, but support her reasons why. She is so articulate and interesting.”
Annie remarked, “It is a privilege to be able to acquire an education that will help me pursue my dreams and someday create my own impact on the world by obtaining priceless knowledge offered in school.”
