The Flabob Airport Preparatory Academy (FAPA) 8th grade “ended the school year with a bang!” reported Principal Robin Davis. End of the year activities included an outing to Knott’s Berry Farm and a promotion ceremony.
In other FAPA news, students joined with 26 other California schools to help create the animated film The Wonder Grove Wizard of Oz. (Click here for details: https://springscharterschools.org/announcements/flabob-academy-assist-creation-animated-film.) As part of this effort, FAPA students completed two sequences for the film, painting backgrounds, providing voice acting and puppeteering for scenes that they hope will make it into the nationwide movie.
“It was our first time working on this type of project and we look forward to working on the next project, ‘Return to Oz,’” Dr. Davis said.
The movie will premiere August 5. The school will receive localized version (with their sequences) in September. Dr. Davis added, “This project was a great addition to our new STEAM program.”
