Two students in Springs’ Bear River Student Center addressed the school’s board of directors as part of the principal’s presentation on their success at the Center. Fifth-grader Rachel Gomez, Principal Shane Wickwire reported, “spoke about how much she loves Bear River, describing how she likes the fact that personalization takes place in the classrooms, allowing her and her fellow students to work at their own pace.”
Rachel spoke about the Center’s Personalized Learning Paths and Monday electives. In addition to musical theater, which Rachel loves, she was also excited to talk about the art classes, dance, and the technology electives, like Combat Code and Raspberry Pi.
Seventh-grader Samantha Acosta also talked about her fondness for the Center, and that “she liked how caring the staff is, and the fact that students can work at their own pace in a personalized way.”
