We are thrilled to invite all ILP students (Grades 4-8th) to compete in the Springs’ Homeschool Regional Spelling Bee! Please sign up for a Homeschool Bee in your regional area! The benefits of spelling bees extend beyond language. Since children are required to spell words while on stage, kids also develop self-confidence, communication and public speaking skills, and the ability to thrive under pressure. The top homeschool and academy students will be invited to advance to the All School Championship Invitational Bee on January 29th (details to follow for all qualifying students). National History Day is an academic competition focusing on history for students in grades 4-12, similar to a Science Fair but for history. Participation in NHD offers numerous benefits, including the development of research, critical thinking, and communication skills. Our teaching staff and specialists are here to support students and families in participating in this amazing educational opportunity. These events open opportunities to win awards, and gain a deep understanding of an area of history that interests and challenges students.
The best way to summarize FIRST LEGO League is to say that it is a robotics program for 9 to 14 year olds, which is designed to get children excited about science and technology — and teach them valuable employment and life skills. FLL can be used in a classroom setting but is not solely designed for this purpose. Teams, composed of up to ten children with at least one adult coach, can also be associated with a pre-existing club or organization, homeschooled, or just be a group of friends who wish to do something awesome.
The California Scholarship Federation (CSF) emphasizes high academic standards, community service, and citizenship for California high school students. Founded in 1921, and with over 1600 chapters, the California Scholarship Federation is the oldest scholarship institution in the state of California.
