Springs held an All School Speech Meet at the Temecula Event Center. Thirty-nine students participated and 34 speeches were delivered. Its purpose is to help students develop communication skills and techniques to speak audibly, articulately, expressively, and with poise and confidence in audience situations, explained Nikkole McAdoo, Events and Community Engagement Coordinator.

Springs Charter Schools invited seven students and their projects to advance to the Riverside County Science Fair this year. The Science and Engineering Fair is a competition of projects designed, developed, and displayed by students in grades 4 through 12. Participants share their creative abilities, knowledge, and interests with other students. Experienced judges critique the projects for qualities including scientific method, content, clarity of presentation, and originality.

Springs Homeschool students gathered at the Temecula Event Center for a Reading Extravaganza, reported Nikki McAdoo, events and community engagement coordinator. Students were invited to dress up as their favorite storybook character. Younger students created Rainbow Fish Playdough and went deep sea “site word fishing,” while older students played Parts of Speech Jenga and participated in a life-sized vocabulary board game. All students shared their cereal box book reports and participated in a Reader’s Theater rotation. At the end of the day, students held a storybook parade. Continue reading →

Fatima Ruzmetova, 11, a 5th grade Homeschool student, is the March 2024 Student Artist of the Month. Her artwork is entitled “Galaxy Awesome.” Fatima lives in Riverside. She enjoys being homeschooled because she doesn’t have to rise early for school “yet I still receive the best education.”

Springs’ Enterprise Resource Center participated in the “Spark of Love” Toy Drive organized by Riverside County Fire Department Station 73, which collects toys for children for the Christmas season. Site facilitator, Dayna Rodela Lopez also dressed up as an elf on the shelf for the students.

Learning Center students at Springs’ Enterprise Resource Center participated in a Fall Art Expo. There were 20 entries; grades K-8 participated. Staff voted on their favorite artists at each grade level. The next art expo will be Winter Wonderland-themed.
