New Individualized Learning Program Leaders

Lanise Goosby is the new Virtual Village Principal. Ms. Goosby will lead the Virtual Academy and Montessori Voyage offerings.  She earned a B.A. in chemistry and began her career as a high school teacher.  She has since been employed by public, private, and charter schools.  She homeschooled her daughters through virtual programs, River Springs Charter School, and a private school affidavit.

RVA Grows, Implements POP Curriculum

Springs’ Renaissance Valley Academy serving grades 6-12 has been steadily growing, reported Vice Principal Brian Bailey, necessitating the hiring of new teachers and exploring opportunities to expand on an adjacent property. The school anticipates having 640 students in grades 6-12 when the school year begins.

Cherry Valley Holds Kindergarten Roundup

July 16, 2021

Springs’ Cherry Valley Cooperative held a virtual Kindergarten Roundup to prepare for the new school year. As part of the Roundup, Tammy Slaten, assistant director, delivered 11 backpacks to students entering kindergarten with the school, which included materials to make a puppet, an alphabet coloring book to help students practice their alphabet, and a countdown to school sheet to follow to prepare for school.

Magnolia Senior Takes 1st in Essay Contest

Nefertari Hammant, 17, a graduating senior from Springs’ Magnolia Student Center, was a preliminary 1st place essay winner of the 2021 Ninth Circuit Civics Contest for high school students in the Central District of California.

Palm Academy Receives Award

June 21, 2021

Springs’ Palm Academy received 2021 Best of Indio Award in the Schools category by the Indio Award Program, reported Principal Shawna Lewis because the school staff “achieved exceptional marketing success in their local community [which] helps make the Indio area a great place to live, work and play.”

FAPA Moves into New Facility

June 21, 2021

Springs’ Flabob Airport Preparatory Academy (FAPA) moved into its new permanent classroom facility located at Flabob Airport in Riverside in June. The facility includes an office, hangar able to accommodate a small airplane, and 10 classrooms (pictured).
