Cherry Valley Teacher Meet and Greet

Springs’ Cherry Valley Co-op held its back-to-school Teacher Meet and Greet themed to the Back to the Future movie series, including a greeting from Marty McFly and such props as a DeLorean, hoverboard, and sports almanac. Teachers spoke to parents and discussed personalized learning expectations and tried to ease anxieties and worries related to the new school year. Principal Tammy Slaten said, “We have over 50 new students this year so we wanted them to feel welcome as they arrived for their first day.” Continue reading

Cherry Valley Holds Kindergarten Roundup

July 16, 2021

Springs’ Cherry Valley Cooperative held a virtual Kindergarten Roundup to prepare for the new school year. As part of the Roundup, Tammy Slaten, assistant director, delivered 11 backpacks to students entering kindergarten with the school, which included materials to make a puppet, an alphabet coloring book to help students practice their alphabet, and a countdown to school sheet to follow to prepare for school.

Cherry Valley Returns to Active Campus Life

Tammy Slaten, assistant director of Springs’ Cherry Valley Cooperative, reports that the school’s 150 students have returned to campus. The school serves K-12, including academy and learning center students, and KEYS high school students.

Cherry Valley Homeschool Cooperative Events

February 18, 2020

Springs’ Cherry Valley Homeschool Cooperative will hold its annual Career Fair on March 26, featuring presentations by members of the community who visit the school and talk about their professions. Students have the opportunity to ask participants questions which can help them discern what career paths they might like to take. Continue reading
