Teachers from Springs’ Venture Online Academy gathered for a Venture mid-year event. The five teachers and their families flew into Southern California from North Carolina, Hawaii and Oregon to enjoy a variety of professional and social/educational activities with their peers, reported Andrea Leib, Venture’s program director.
The social/educational activities included visits to San Diego Zoo Safari Park and the Point Loma Tide Pools. Venture is an online school which was launched two years ago. The program is continuing to “develop and improve,” said Andrea Leib, and has grown 28% over the past year. More students and their families are encouraged to explore the program to see if it is a good fit for their lives. The ideal Venture student, Andrea said, is one who wants to do his education “anywhere, anytime with full teacher support.”
