After winning the Temecula Student Center´s Science and Engineering Fair, 5th grader Arthor Hawkes and sisters Maya and Leilani Launiu (4th and 7th graders) went on to win at the all-Springs Fair. Continuing their winning streak, both projects advanced two more levels from the regional competition to the Riverside County Fair.
Competing against hundreds of other projects, Arthor won a silver medal in the Elementary Division, and Maya and Leilani took the silver medal for the Junior Division. Although only the gold medal winners advanced to the California State Fair, this is the highest level ever achieved by TSC students.
Vice Principal Valerie Walker said, “We are so proud of our accomplished scientists and engineers who completed outstanding projects while overcoming the obstacles of 100% distance learning. Our TSC Eagles are definitely soaring.”
