Springs’ Temecula Student Center has joined CIF (California Interscholastic Federation).
The Center applied at the instigation of PE teacher Brianne Carson; others assisting included Deb Essel, Springs’ Assistant Superintendent – Education Academies, Katherine Pangle, principal of Temecula Student Center and Dax McGregor. The event kicked off its CIF participation with a student Pep Rally on May 7. CIF competition will begin this fall with cross country. Other CIF sports include basketball, soccer and track & field.
“It’s been a long time coming,” said Brianne. “I believe this will really enhance the sports programs we offer.”
The rally included introduction to the school’s new mascot, the Centurion, band and dance performances, a motivational video and a chance to sign up for sports teams. For additional information, please contact Dax McGregor at dax.mcgregor@springscs.org or 951-252-8717.
