Savannah Bonaventure, age 12, is entering the 8th grade at our Lake Elsinore Student Center.
Savannah and her family chose Springs after her previous charter school closed. They explored some private school options, but due to the cost and “culture shock” of private school, opted for Springs. Savannah noted, “It was the right choice.”
She likes school. She was elected ASB president, and “loved being part of the planning process for the school and managing events.” She was the winner of a science fair with a project that explored the interchangeability of baking soda and baking powder (“They’re not!” she noted.)
Savannah’s favorite subjects are math and history. She also likes giving public presentations, and learned this year to be more comfortable with public speaking.
Although college is a long way off, she wants to follow in her father’s footsteps and attend Pepperdine University. Business is a possible major, as “business fascinates me.” Her parents had previously owned some businesses, she continued, and “I loved hearing the stories of the good and bad times.”
Her parents and brother are the most important people in her life. Her mother will soon earn a degree in college, she added, and “she’s definitely the type of woman I want to be.”
Her hobbies including singing, both as part of a group and individually. She sang recently in a talent show, at Storm Stadium and at the 8th grade graduation. She also likes golf, running 5Ks and 1980s music (last summer she went to a Go-Go’s concert).
