Jillian Novak, age 13, is in the 8th grade at Palm Academy in Indio. She lives in Palm Desert. She is in her second year with Springs; the first year she was homeschooled.
She likes school, especially medical classes on Wednesdays. She explained, “We have two nurses teach us about things like anxiety, our lymph nodes and cancers. I always look forward to that class.”
Her hobbies include kickboxing—she takes classes three times per week—and caring for horses.
Alyssa Gonzales, principal of Palm Academy, believes Jillian is an outstanding student. She admires her “positive attitude, empathy towards others and citizenship.”
