Students at the Otay Ranch Academy for the Arts were given the challenge of building a seaworthy boat from cardboard and tape on March 5. The boats held a single student, and were raced across a high school pool. The goal was to have a watertight boat that could make it across the pool. Parents were invited to come and cheer their children on. After the event, students participated in a Socratic seminar to discuss what they learned.
