Journey Homeschool senior Asandra McFee is the January 2022 Student Artist of the Month. Her artwork is entitled “Back to the Good Old Days.” Alsandra, 17, is a senior in Springs’ Journey Homeschool program. She lives in Temecula.
Asandra began with Springs as a sophomore. She said, “Being a part of this school and program has helped me to grow, learn and love myself through my art and increase my academic progress to graduate and go to college.”
She likes to sketch using charcoal pencils and to paint with acrylic. Her preferred subjects include landscapes and iconography. She added, “I also sketch pieces that celebrate the beauty of African American women, that girls like me in high school don’t see every day.”
After graduation, she is planning on “forming a business where I can exercise my creativity.” She also has an interest in government and traveling.
