Tamara Rose, Director of Professional Development and Growth, reported that in February, approximately 900 educators from across the network gathered for the 2026 Professional Learning Summit. The event brought together General Education, Special Education, and Student Services teams for a day of collaboration and role-specific professional development.
Assistant Superintendent Vivian Price shared this year’s focus, “One Team, One Goal,” reinforcing the importance of alignment across departments to support student success.
Staff participated in targeted breakout sessions designed to support their specific roles, including workshops for TK writing, high school instruction, and Virtual Academy strategy. Editable Workmaps were also introduced, providing teams with greater flexibility to personalize student learning plans. Branching Minds Momentum Award winners were recognized for their strong implementation of data-driven intervention practices.
Following the summit, organizers gathered staff feedback to guide future improvements. Adjustments under consideration include schedule changes to ease Friday traffic concerns, increasing hands-on collaboration time, and continuing to expand specialized training tracks for ACEs, Special Education teams, and specialty departments.
When asked what strategies they plan to implement in their classrooms, staff highlighted Writing Across the Curriculum, the use of Write Score rubrics and Superstructures, the C.A.L.M. Strategy and Love & Logic for student support, and the use of i-Ready and mClass data to guide small-group instruction.
As Springs moves into the second half of the school year, leaders will continue supporting staff in implementing these strategies across sites.
