The Rancho Cucamonga Personalized Learning Center, Springs newest program, is off to a strong start after opening in August, reported Colette Bozek, principal.
It is currently serving 70 students but is pleased to welcome more as the school year progresses. “Ours is a personalized learning program, with teachers serving as guides and facilitators, supporting each student and finding out what best motivates him/her,” said Ms. Bozek. “I think many of our parents are finding our approach to education appealing.”
The Rancho Cucamonga Personalized Learning Center offers two independent study programs as well as Homeschool enrichment classes. The Homeschool Discovery Col-LAB-orative program serves grades TK-8, with structured classroom activities three days a week for Discovery program students with all monthly learning plan meetings happening at the Center. It serves students with a unique, Springs-created multi-age, thematic curriculum that challenges them to become noteworthy citizens, capable communicators, analytical thinkers and independent learners.
The U-Lab program serves grades 9-12, providing a small family-friendly environment for high schoolers who would like to pick and choose their own academic path. They may sign up for university style courses taught through direct instruction by a “live” teacher, take courses through Springs’ online virtual classroom, participate in small-group workshop seminar courses, design their own course or do a traditional independent study.
And, the Homeschool Learning Center serves TK-12 with workshop enrichment classes.
