Springs’ Palm Academy held a STEAM-based entrepreneurship Carnival designed to teach students real-world business skills, reported teacher Michelle Pantoja. As part of the event, which was organized by teacher Alma Felipe, students created their own business or store, developed an inventory, managed a budget, applied for a loan, and designed marketing materials such as flyers and logos. The goal of the Carnival was to maximize one’s profits.
This hands-on experience allowed students to apply their knowledge in science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics in a practical and engaging way. At the culmination of the project, students present their businesses to the entire school community (TK-6th grade), giving them valuable experience in customer service, communication, and sales.
