Lucas Cozzitarto, a 6th-grade student with Springs’ Magnolia Student Center, played on Eastvale Little League’s 10u All-Star team, reported his mother Janel Cozzitarto, Magnolia’s vice-principal. His team won the District 72 and Section 9 championships, but were edged out in the state championship. Lucas played 3rd base and pitched, and maintained a batting average of .675.
In other Magnolia news, Irma Herrera, site facilitator, was recognized as a Safety Hero by the San Bernardino County Board of Supervisors on August 14. According to the Board chairman, she was recognized for her “extraordinary contributions to the Vision4Safety campaign” and her “commitment to community safety, and improving the lives of others.”
