She is a Homeschool senior who lives in Big Bear City, and has been a Springs student for six years.
She was part of a caroling group that sang in a variety of venues last Christmas, including at the Big Bear Lake Performing Arts Center. She took second in a Rotary Club singing competition for scholarships, singing the Italian classical song Caro Mio Ben by Giuseppe Giordani and I Dreamed a Dream, a Les Misérables song by Claude-Michel Schönberg. At Cal State University San Bernardino’s Solofest, Elizabeth sang Don’t Forget to Remember Me by Carrie Underwood.
Elizabeth has been taking voice lessons for two years, and recently began competing. Her mother, Paula DeLay, remarked, “We are so proud of her. She really enjoys singing, and this should open many doors for her.”
Elizabeth will graduate from Springs this June, and then move on to San Diego State University. She hopes to eventually move to New York and study forensic psychology.
In addition to singing, Elizabeth is a member of Big Bear Elite Cheer, a cheerleading program for children in Big Bear Valley. She is cheer captain on her team, and participates in competitions at schools, Knott’s Berry Farm, Universal Studios and in Las Vegas. She likes to assist younger children in cheer.
To stay in shape she participates in the 100 Mile Centurion Program, for which she engages in swimming, skiing and snowboarding. Paula noted, “Elizabeth is always very busy, and we enjoy seeing her do healthy things.”
