Math teachers from Springs’ Hemet Quest Student Center and Renaissance Valley Academy (RVA) are collaborating via monthly meetings to improve students’ math abilities, reported RVA Vice Principal Brian Bailey. Teachers are assessing which math skills are often lacking among students in the later grades, he said, so that teachers in lower grades can put greater emphasis on these skills leading to a long term improvement of math skills overall.
In other news, he continued, three RVA high school students have received scholarships to attend the ED100 Summer Academy, which teaches student leadership skills.
