Field Trips Enhance a Child’s Education

Field trips can greatly enhance a child’s education, believes Carmelina Rosales, Springs’ Education Field Trip Coordinator. Recent field trips include a visit to PennyPickle’s Workshop in Temecula (pictured), a children’s museum with hands-on inventions, gadgets, and experiments, which drew 101 participants.

Fifty-six Homeschool students went on a field trip to UC Riverside’s Botanic Gardens. Spanning 40 acres, this living plant museum boasts over 3,500 plant species and numerous specimens from worldwide locales, with a special emphasis on those from Mediterranean climates and arid lands, mirroring California and the desert southwestern US. And, 112 went on a field trip to the La Brea Tar Pits in Los Angeles to learn about the prehistoric creatures which once roamed the Southland.

More field trips remain in the school year, including visits to Missions San Juan Capistrano and San Diego de Alcala, Discovery Cube, Puffs Musical, Davey’s Locker Whale Watching, and Free Range Farm.   Click here for details and to sign up.
