Evelyn Mendieta, 10, a 4th-grade student with Springs’ Venture Online program, is the May 2022 Student Artist of the Month. The title of her artwork is “Back to School.”
The Riverside resident likes to draw animals, landscapes, and stick men because “I get to draw their little faces.” She draws with pencil, colored pencils, paint, crayons, and watercolors.
Besides art, she enjoys music, sports, and nature. She would like to be a veterinarian when she finishes school. She concluded, “I love all animals. My favorite animal is a unicorn and I love all the colors of the rainbow.”

In other Springs art news, Journey Home School 9th grade student Asereht Madrigal has been taking college-level art classes and is learning techniques to advance her skills. She has been producing some impressive artwork (sample pictured).
