On the High Wire
From the creators of The Fantasticks and I Do, I Do comes a fresh and unique story set in the backstage world of circus performers. Mirette is the story of a young girl in 1890’s Paris who convinces a retired high wire artist to teach her his trade, and in turn teaches him to overcome his own fear. We’re thrilled that our audiences will be the first to see this newly revised version of a story that celebrates both the joys and struggles of being a performing artist. (For ages 7+)
Book by Elizabeth Diggs, music by Harvey Schmidt, lyrics by Tom Jones, based on the picture book “Mirette on the High Wire” by Emily Arnold McCully, directed by Casey Stangl, music direction by Janice Wainwright.
