Springs Murrieta Student Center Montessori middle school students in teacher Beth Whitehead’s class, have created their own fictitious toy companies. They worked in groups to select their company’s name, mission, logo, and motto, and have created prototypes of their own unique toys. The students then wrote five-paragraph essays about their experiences and created websites to go with them, the first time for most creating one.
The annual Springs spelling bee was held virtually this year, with each participant given 25 spelling words and 25 vocabulary words. The winners were:
Trevor Lambert, 9, a 4th-grade student in the Murrieta Student Center, competed in the Jiu-Jitsu World League in Scottsdale, Arizona, and won the gold medal by winning four matches. The French Valley resident trains four times a week a Carlson Gracie Temecula as a grey-black belt and has competed for four years (see photos here).
Springs’ Murrieta Student Center hosted a Math Night featuring math-themed games, interactive math puzzles, a game of Kahoots and pizza provided by the Murrieta Associated Student Body. One hundred fifty students grades TK-6 participated. Continue reading
Eisley Brandt, who has just completed 5th grade at Springs’ Murrieta Student Center, has authored a book with her father, Dan Brandt, entitled “My Friends That Are Not: Rewriting Your Negative Self Talk Script.” The book is about overcoming negative thoughts. Continue reading

The Murrieta Student Center has launched a Global Science Collaboration partnering students from the Montessori Middle School program with high school students from Instituto de Educacao Beatissma Virgem Maria in São Paulo, Brazil. The students will create a display for the Western Science Center in Hemet comparing and contrasting Pleistocene animals in their respective regions. Continue reading
