iShine ACE Maria Casas Retires

May 14, 2021

Springs’ iShine Student Center said farewell to Maria Casas, special education instructional aide, who retired at the end of the school year. She originally worked in the mortgage industry, but after staying home for a time to raise her grandson, she opted for a career in education instead. She especially enjoyed working with students with disabilities and has worked for the past four years as a one-on-one aide.

iShine Student Honored for Leadership Skills

March 15, 2021

Xander Owen, a 6th-grade student in Springs’ iShine Student Center, was recognized for his leadership skills in a recent Shark Tank project where they had to create or improve upon an existing product, reported teacher Kristy Foley.  Xander’s group imagined the creation of the “Chore Bot” to help with household chores. iShine Student is a Horse Enthusiast

January 19, 2021

Haiden Holmes, 11, is a 6th-grade student with Springs’ iShine Student Center who loves riding horses. She lives in Fallbrook. She rides Western-style each week and spends time daily with the horses feeding, brushing, and checking on them. She rides her aunts’ horses, which are American Paints ages 19 & 21.

iShine Student Writes and Directs Online Play

October 20, 2020

Declan Kallberg, 13, an 8th grade student at Springs iShine Student Center, participated in The Living Room Play Workshop, an online offering by The Old Globe Arts Engagement that allows participants to write, direct and produce a play without leaving their homes. He created a play called “Ding Dong” in which his attempts at learning to play the piano are foiled by a barrage of would-be visitors knocking at the door. The first play he wrote, “Dub Thee Fear.”

iShine Holds Promotion/Recognition Drive-Through

June 25, 2020

Springs iShine Student Center in Temecula held a promotion parade for its 8th grad students and a recognition parade for TK-7th grade. As students drove by, TV screens featured photographs from the school year, staff saluted students, and students received certificates of completion. Continue reading
