Bear River Student Center 8th grade student Zuri Miles, 13, is the featured actress in Crystal Geyser’s new 30-second television commercial “After School Trip.” Click here to watch the commercial. It was filmed on-location at Mt. Shasta in northern California and took a week to film. She flew to San Francisco (first time on an airplane), and drove to Mt. Shasta. She said, “It was so much fun as it was cold and snowing; I don’t get to see snow very often. It was a beautiful and amazing experience.”

Sofie Dossi, 21, a self-taught contortionist, hand balancer, and aerialist, was a Springs Homeschool student. She has been a 2016 America’s God Talent finalist and has appeared on The Ellen Show. She is now a popular YouTuber with nearly seven million subscribers and over four million followers on Instagram.

Gina Corby-Potter (pictured) is the new principal at Springs’ Riverside Student Center. She has worked for private and charter schools for 17 years, teaching K-8, and as an athletic director and principal. This is her first year at Springs. She likes animals, traveling to historic landmarks, reading and playing, and coaching sports.

Springs is introducing an A-G approved Algebra 2 financial literacy class called Algebra in the World, reported math specialist Stephanie Fryfe. The students learn Algebra 2 concepts through a financial literacy lens. The student will explore systems of equations through planning for savings accounts and analyzing better loan programs.
