March e-Newsletter

Our goal at Springs is to help our students take charge of their own education and empower their bright future.  The annual California Assessment of Student Performance and Progress (CAASPP) test is a measure of how well our students are mastering their “I Can!s” in the rigorous new online adaptive test.  We were delighted to recognize 21 students who earned perfect scores on the CAASPP test!

Each Spring, students in grades 3-8 and 11 participate in CAASPP testing for both English Language Arts (ELA) and math.  This is a rigorous test that adapts to student responses and becomes increasingly difficult as the student responds correctly.  The students earning perfect scores for ELA include Brian ChuKatherine CordaroMadeline CordaroHalsey DrechslerNoah EmeryJacob HensleyCameryn MugolGeralynn MendozaJoseph Taylor and Cadence Wright.  The students earning perfect math scores include Leon ChiricescuJohn GreeneMarc MorozKayden PatecellZoey RudermanAubrey ShieldBenjamin Strong and Emily Yaish.  Students earning perfect scores on both tests include Dalton AdcockJulian Eshkol and Michael Rebia.

Congratulations to you all for this fine achievement, and we expect even more great things for you in the future!

Additionally, we have many district-wide competitions that give our students the opportunity to demonstrate their talents.  One held recently was our annual History Day, held at our Events Center on February 8.  Students from all our sites and programs were welcome to participate; they were presented with an annual theme and then invited to choose a historical topic to connect with it.  We had 26 students who presented a total of 17 projects.  Of those, nine projects and 16 students are advancing to the Riverside County History Day Competition on March 10.  From there, students have the opportunity to advance to state and national competitions.

Congratulations to our students who are advancing, and we wish you the best of luck in upcoming competitions!

Sincerely,
