Lucas Galvez was the first-place winner in Springs’ Virtual Village inaugural virtual science fair. Students designed science projects that were aligned with science standards and employed the inquiry-based scientific method. Projects were math-focused, integrating concepts such as data analysis, measurement, and statistical reasoning to strengthen their skills for standardized math tests.
In other Virtual Village news, Montessori Voyage and Virtual Academy were the first among the Springs’ programs to achieve 100% student participation in CAASPP testing, reported Lisa Fahrenkamp, program facilitator. And, staff and students dressed in royal attire for Springs’ 25th Royal Birthday Bash. The celebration included crown-making, succulent planting, bubbles, games, and photo booths. The students also closed out the school year with an end-of-the-year trip and promotion celebration at Mulligan’s Family Fun Center. More than 300 students and families participated.
