Virtual Academy families and staff took a field trip to the San Diego Zoo Safari Park and had an “unforgettable adventure,” reported Lanise Goosby, Virtual Village principal. Highlights included a tram ride through the parks’ wildlife and park exhibits.
Students had the opportunity to “meet” animals “from all corners of the world … From majestic lions to playful meerkats, each encounter sparked curiosity and wonder. It was a perfect opportunity to see our lessons come to life, as the students connected what they’ve learned in their virtual classrooms with the real world.”

The Montessori Voyage and Virtual Academy students have been busy with “hands-on learning,” she continued, including science experiments to creative projects. Mrs. Runcie’s class, for example, had a lesson on renewable energy, while Mrs. Ramos and Ms. Misty’s classes were involved in creating “exciting art projects.”
Lanise concluded, “These activities are just a glimpse of the rich learning experiences happening at Montessori Voyage and Virtual Academy. Whether it’s science, art, or any subject in between, our students are proving that virtual learning is a blast.”
