Evehenia Lemasters Tahir, 14, is a 9th-grade Homeschool student who has been in Homeschool since kindergarten. She said, “I have loved to draw for as long as I can remember.”
She works mostly with graphite pencils. She prefers using charcoal, she said, “but it is harder to erase, and I have yet to find a mechanical pencil which uses charcoal, so I stick with graphite.”
She also uses oil pastels, watercolor paints, Stabilo markers and Crayola crayons. She likes drawing people (“typically females”), dragons, and mandalas.
Other interests include reading and writing, acro (She said, “Imagine a gymnastics floor routine with cheer moves at the end of each tumbling pass.”), dancing, miming, sculpting dragons out of wire, turning dead insects into jewelry and people watching. Her preferred form of transportation is riding a unicycle.
She continued, “I have a small obsession with most things steampunk, and one of my most prized possessions is my top hat.” One of her favorite quotes by Nikola Tesla: “I don’t care that they stole my idea, I care that they have none of their own.”
