Photographer Daniel Rubio, a Springs alumnus, made a presentation on photography to students in Springs’ Career Internship Technical Education (CITE) pathway at the Pathfinder Student Center. Rubio photographs concerts and events, takes family and commercial portraits and does product and lifestyle photography for brands and companies.
He presented a slideshow portfolio of his work to students, and offered advice on launching a career as a professional photographer. He stressed that a strong social media presence was important, and encouraged potential photographers to reach out to individuals and organizations with whom they wanted to work.
Maureen Wilson, director of CITE, said, “Daniel’s visit demonstrated to the CITE students that hard work and commitment is providing him with a career in something he is passionate about.”
