The Santa Ana Student Center (SASC) is receiving a playground upgrade, reported Principal Tricia Gallagher. The previous blacktop was damaged by large tree roots; the new concrete playground will have painted games such as hopscotch and four-square and a full basketball court, expanded from a single basketball hoop.
The tree with the destructive roots now has an 18-inch capped sitting space encircling it. The school staff is “really excited” about the upgrades, said Ms. Gallagher.
