Springs Renaissance Valley Academy is encouraging its students to participate in its school-wide Science and Engineering Fair in January, which will be held virtually for the first time. The school leadership is making an effort to increase student participation, said Vice Principal Brian Bailey, “by trying to make science cool.”
Students who have signed up to participate so far have projects involving engineering, physics, and biology. Students select the projects themselves, based on the work they’re doing in the classroom. Projects will be judged by Mr. Bailey and the RVA science committee, with winners going on to compete in the district-wide competition.
RVA serves 590 students in grades 6-12; it is located in San Jacinto. Click here to watch a video on the school.
